Sorry for the lack of updates... |
|

Hopefully I'll have something new on the site soon. In the meantime, I have entered an art contest in an effort to get a couple of my paintings included in an art book. If you would like to help, you can vote for each painting at these links:

I've created a new section in my gallery called Comic Art. Lately I've been trying my hand at being a colorist and I have enjoyed it very much. Who knows what will come of it. |

New drawing - Writhing Mass |
|
| |
Finally got around to doing some traditional work again. This is what happens when I just start moving a piece of charcoal on paper. When I work with charcoal I like to start without any plan at all. I just make a few random lines, etc and then fill in what I see it becoming. Kinda like looking at clouds, some people see Abe Lincoln's face...I see a tenticle monster. *shrug*

New painting - In the Land of the Blind |
|
| |
I have uploaded painting #2 for 2009 and its entitled "In the Land of the Blind." After I made "Solstice" I wanted to go back to darker side of things and the subject that this piece conveys is something I've wanted to put into a painting for a while. WARNING: This painting is graphic!
Also, I have posted a brand new Bio so go check it out. Thanks Keebs!

New painting - Solstice |
|
| |
I have posted a new painting entitled "Solstice". I left the darkside alone on this one and went back to a fantasy theme. I'm pleased with the outcome and I hope you guys and gals enjoy it.
Btw, Atlanta Supercon went well. I met a lot of great artists, authors, etc. and made some new friends. It was an interesting weekend; the turnout was pretty good and people seemed to enjoy my work which is always nice. :) Oh yeah, I got irl glomped which is a first for me lol. Anyway, I have posted pics on my Facebook; if you aren't already friends with me then feel free to add me: My Facebook

Painting Reel and Con schedule |
|

Hello again, I hope all is well with everyone. In preparation for Atlanta Supercon I have created a short video showing my paintings in their various stages from start to completion. It's not flashy but it will give you an idea of what my process is. Click the "Reel" link in the nav above to check it out. Also, I posted a con schedule on the left.

Limited Edition Prints |
|
| |
Hello everyone, I'm back from Crisiscon and I had an excellent time. The reception to my artwork was better than I had expected and I sold a decent amount of prints. More importantly I was able to meet some really great artists, authors, etc. It was an all around wonderful experience.
You might have already noticed the new link in the nav on the top right; I have opened an online store. I'll be selling all the limited edition prints through the online store, future cons, etc. Since I have just started selling the prints most of them are still very low numbers so order them while they last. :) *sales pitch over*
So what is next? I started a new painting; hopefully it will turn out nicely. I'm also going to attend Atlanta Supercon on Nov 21-23 so if you plan on attending swing by and visit me in the Artist Alley.

Almost made it a year without an update... |
|
| |
Oh well, there is always next year. Kidding aside, I apologize for the lack of updates. This year has been one of the busiest I've had and it doesn't look like it will be calming down anytime soon. I've been doing a lot of freelance game dev this year, the names of the projects haven't been released yet but when they are I'll mention them here. On the family front had our third child, Isabella, in September. :) I also hit level 28 in the game of life a couple days ago.
I'm going to have an art table at Crisiscon later this week and I'll be selling limited edition prints of some of my paintings; we'll see how that goes. I also plan on selling the prints here on my site sometime soon.
Painting has taken a backseat to all the extra work I've been doing lately but I'm going to try to do something soon. I promise to update more often. :)

Also, if you have been here before you might notice a change in the site. I have changed the background a little and moved the nav to the top of the page.

ImagineFX, vampire painting news and freelance availability |
|
| |
Well my ImagineFX issue came in today and to my surprise (I don't believe anything until I see it) I saw my artwork featured on page 13! It was a really great feeling to know someone liked my work enough to print it...very cool stuff. I'm not sure if the issue is on store shelves yet here in the US but when you see issue 25 pick it up and take a look.
As for other news, I've been working on some black and white vampire paintings lately and I'll be posting a couple pretty soon. They have been a lot of fun to work on and I'm looking forward to the finished versions.
I have some open time coming up in my schedule so if anyone out there is interested in hiring me to do some freelance illustration work for them please feel free to send me an email at: CEREBR4L@gmail.com

Updates and more cool news... |
|
| |
It's been a while since my last update and a lot has gone on between now and then. I went to Siggraph 2007 in San Diego back in August and I had a great time. I was able to hang out with people from ILM, Pixar, Cafe FX, AutoDesk and many many more. One of the highlights of the trip was when I talked with one of the movie industry greats, Syd Mead. (see picture to the right) I was able to show him some of my paintings and his personal favorite was "Imprisoned". :D

Other news, I just found out that my work will be featured in issue #25 of ImagineFX Magazine! It is a very nicely done Sci-fi/Fantasy digital art magazine that you should definitely check out. Keep an eye out for issue 25 which should be for sale in a couple months.
